Olle (to the right)
Olle Mattson was born in Gothenburg and immigrated as a 2.5 year old to South Africa and later to Brazil and Peru. Got his first long trousers at around 10 years old. Returned to Sweden as a 19 year old.
Olle saw Sweden with curious eyes. He perceived the smaller details in people and nature that usually go unnoticed by us accustomed Swedes.
That which appears to be trash, dead, inconspicuous. By putting together the refused into unexpected combinations it regained its worth and meaning. A little nod to todays short-term thinking society.
Photography is an international language.Pictures speak to you whether you live in Johannesburg, Lima or Stockholm.
This photographic language without borders made Olle Mattson to one of Swedens most awarded Art Directors in advertising and gave him a place in Platinaakademin.
You have seen his way of speaking with pictures in the countries biggest newspapers, billboards, television and the big screen.
All images are part of private works made in his home, in the archipelago of Stockholm, with objects found in his garden and surroundings in the past 5 - 6 years.
To depict that which has lost its value is the inspiration.
And to combine these things so that it awakens something new in the eyes of the beholder.
